Artist Spotlight: Lloyd Banks

Lloyd Banks:

This is something that I am going to start doing an artist spotlight. My first one will probably throw some people off. Its Mister Blue Hef. Lloyd Banks. To me besides Young Buck(who meh to me is hit or miss sometimes) is solidly underrated as an MC. He has the ability to change his flow. He can hop on any beat. I think because of 50 that jacked up his marketablility. His freestyles are pretty on par with the best of them. I would put him on my rap roster no questions about that shit either. I think what could save him if he put more of his freestyles out there as real songs because these songs have a nice melody and great lyrical skills.

Strengths:
Lyrical stability, punch-line values, under the radar

Weaknesses:
Hard to market, 50 his damn self, lack of respect of G-unit

Heres a real good question for everyone...why does everyone love Gucci Mane? Is he so street hes good? or is it because of his adlibs which the yeah's he says are makin fun of Jeezy if you didn't know? i like him not gonna lie he got some catchy shit but if u look at the substance of his lyrics this dude mutters. I feel as if I hear mush mouth rapping. I wonder what his thought process would be? thats the great question to me. I mean there are a lot of mush mouth rappers. And they get all of the respect and play. I guess when I drop an album its mush mouth on deck. Case and point with the download of the day. But shouts to Big Boi and Santana...

PS. remember folks lyricism is a must
